George Penn Jones, a Branson native residing in Walnut Shade, passed away May 17, 2022 at the age of 90. He was born August 29, 1931 in Springfield to William Penn Jones and Mable Lucille (Hayes) Jones.

He graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and completed graduate work at Kansas State University in Lawrence, KS, Drury University in Springfield, MO and Arkansas University in Jonesborough, AR.

George served as an educator in Hartville, Forsyth, Bradleyville, Blue Eye and Reeds Spring. He was a church organist and choir director at Community Presbyterian Church in Forsyth, MO. He was a choir member at Lawrence Kansas Presbyterian Church, Forsyth Community Presbyterian Church, First and Calvary Presbyterian Church and Trinity Presbyterian Church in Springfield. He served as a Red Cross Bloodmobile Contact in Taney County and served on the board of CAM Ministries....

Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10:30 AM at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Online condolences can be left at gormanscharpf.com
