John V. Christian Jr., 81, of Greenfield, IN passed away Monday May 6, 2022 at Hancock Regional Hospital following a brief illness. He was born June 2, 1940 in Nashville, TN, a son of the late Johnnie V. and Margarette (Menees) Christian Sr.

A 1958 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School he attended Purdue University for a year before serving in the US Air Force, where he was a part of the Strategic air command and was involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis. John had a long and varied career, retiring at age 80. He loved ATV-RZR riding with his children and grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of nearly 62 years, Karen (Halfaker) Christian; two daughters, Kim Christian (Chris) Ridding and Tracey Christian (Scott) Ruble; four grandchildren, Zachary Wall, Kolby (Mallory) Ruble, Kaycee Ruble (Brad) Bell, and Kayden Ruble; a great granddaughter, Paisley Ruble; a brother, Stephen (Shelia) Christian; and several nieces and nephews.

John was laid to rest by his family, who loved him, at 11 am Thursday May 19, 2022 at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, IN, with Pastor Tony Darling officiating. Military graveside rites were conducted by the American Legion Post #152. Memorial contributions may be given to Good News Mission, 2716 Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN 46201.
