He served in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He attended college and medical school at the University of Minnesota, and practiced general surgery. Harold and his wife, Marillyn, were blessed to have three daughters. He enjoyed traveling the world, photography, fishing, and spending summer vacations at the family lake cabin. He was active in church, Rotary, and Torske Klubben. After retirement, he indulged his love of woodworking and coffee with his men's groups.
He is survived by his wife, Marillyn, daughters Leigh, Valerie and Jocelyn, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
His memorial service will be held on Monday, May 16th at 12:15 PM at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4801 France Avenue South, Minneapolis. A gathering of family and friends and a light meal follows the service. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the University of Minnesota Medical School.
