Timothy Garland Blackburn, 56, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at his home in Radford. He was a member of Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church and a psychiatric technician at Carilion St. Albans Hospital with 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents Garland and Stella Martin Blackburn. Survivors include his wife, Robin H. Blackburn of Radford; a son Martin Blackburn of Radford; a daughter Brooke Blackburn of Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law Martha and Doug Gardner of Radford; a special granddaughter Kaylee Blackburn of Dublin; a niece Amanda Gardner of Bristol; a nephew Scott Gardner of Radford; and many other friends, relatives and his St. Albans family. Timm was a man of strength, loyalty, faith and love for his job, church, horses, relatives, friends and above all love for his family. Memorial services will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11 am at the Morgans Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Darlene Marshall officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Morgans Chapel UM Church.
