Judy Ann (Souhrada) Miller, 79, of Lime Springs passed away on May 15th, 2022 at the Evans Memorial Home in Cresco, Iowa. She had been living there since December 2021.
Judy was born in Iowa on June 10th, 1942.
She was later adopted around 6 months old by Frank and Louise Souhrada. She grew up on a farm just outside of Lime Springs with her parents and brother, Jerry.
She attended country school and later attended Notre Dame, where she would graduate.
Judy met her future husband, James "Jim" Miller, and they were married on June 14, 1963. The couple lived in Lime Springs and had 3 children:
Judy had many jobs throughout her life including: babysitting, cooking, waitressing, bartending, and working with Jim at the gas station they owned.
She enjoyed reading, playing cards, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Judy was well known in the area as "Ma Miller". Judy played pool league for many years and enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Louise Souhrada, her husband Jim Miller Sr, and a son Richie Miller.
A celebration of life will be held on May 21, 2022, from 1pm-4pm at the Lime Springs Community Center. A private family burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lime Springs, Iowa at a later date.
