Kenneth G. "Sonny" Wagner, 81, of McVeytown, passed away on Tuesday May 17, 2022 at William Penn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 8, 1941 in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Kenneth A. and Violet J. (Rhoades) Wagner. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine (Schnaufer) Wagner, his brother, Robert "Butch" Wagner, step-brother, Kirby, and step-sisters, Sue Ann and Linda.
Sonny is survived by his children, Tammy Jo, Raquel "Rocky", Bobbi Jo, and Waylon; grandchildren, Lexie Kennedy-Ellerbusch and husband Alex, Russell Brought, Jr., Kolton Wagner and Leah Wagner; great-grandchild, Ace Ellerbusch; and sister, Donna Fay Norton.
Sonny enjoyed a lifetime of hunting, fishing, racing, boating, water skiing and camping. God and family were most important to him. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the family business known as "Wagner's Garage," whether it was working, playing cards, or telling stories. Earlier in life, Sonny was self-employed as an OTR Truck Driver. Learning the trade of diesel mechanic from his grandfather, Gilbert Wagner, Sonny opened his own garage, giving him the ability to spend more time with his wife and four children.
He was one of a kind, no matter where he would go, or who he would meet, there were always great stories being told or adventures to be shared with his friends. Even in his final days, he was making lasting impressions on those around him.
A celebration of Josephine and Sonny's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday June 18, 2022 at Malta Park, Malta Park Rd, Granville, PA 17029.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
