Nancy Staples entered her heavenly home on October 5, 2020 at the Baldwin Healthcare & Rehab Center, Baldwin City, KS, after a long and valiant battle with multiple myeloma.
Nancy was one of nine children born to the late William and Muriel Harshbarger, in Alton, IL on October 3, 1946. She moved to Eudora, Kansas in 1977 and has lived there since. She has been an active member of the Eudora community and leaves behind many friends and loved ones from there.
She was a homemaker for many years, raising her four children as a single mom while working at several local businesses in Eudora. Before retiring, for 15 years she was employed as a customer service representative at NCS Pearson, Inc., Lawrence, KS. She was an active member of the Eudora Baptist Church, Eudora.
Survivors include three sons, Matthias (Denise), Olathe, KS, Titus (Sarah), Blue Rapids, KS, Kenan (Autumn), Eudora, KS, and SarahJoy, Moscow, ID; two sisters, Janet Lewis, Cottage Hills, IL, and Ruth Hardesty, Godfrey, IL; and 14 grandchildren.
Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her comfort and peace.
Friends may call from 12 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 8, at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence, KS, where family will receive them from 6 to 8 p.m.
