Palmer, Tennessee – Mrs. Elsie Ailene King, 88, passed away Sunday May 15, 2022, at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis King; son, Ronald "Bud" King; sister, Louise Woodlee; infant sister, Annie Marie Anderson; later husband, Clyde Bean.

She was a cook at Swiss Memorial School for many years. She attended the Community Harvest Church of God and the Barkers Cove Community Church before her health declined.

She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (David) Crabtree; sister, Peggy Fults (Phillip) Cash; grandchildren, Todd (Melissa) King, Tina (Jamie) Cooper and Tanya Birdwell; 8 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Philip Fults officiating with burial to follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
