Tonya Lynn Lynch, age 73, of Eatonton, Georgia passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Tonya was born February 23, 1949.
She graduated from Forest Park High School in 1967. She was preceded in death by her father Robert L. Johnson, her mother Mable "Peggy" Johnson, and her brother, David L. Johnson. She is survived by her high-school sweetheart and husband of 53 years Gerald E. (Jerry) Lynch, daughter Tara Selman (Jim) and son Jason Lynch (Audrey); eight grandchildren, Ethan, Tyler, Montana, Kelly, Cooper, Addison, Brooke, Claire, and numerous cousins.
She was a stay-at-home mother for 10 years, but soon started a lengthy career working as a civilian employee with the U.S. Army Reserves at Ft. Gillem, GA, Ft. McPherson, GA, and retired in 2011 from Ft. Bragg, NC. She then moved to Eatonton, GA to enjoy her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, planting, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends at the lake. She was a former member of the First Christian Church of Morrow and a current member of the Lake Country Baptist Church, in Eatonton, GA.
A visitation of family and friends will be held for Tonya on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home - Fairview Chapel | 376 Fairview Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. A graveside celebration of life and committal service will occur Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Fairview Memorial Gardens | 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281.
