Jack was born on June 9, 1932 in the Panama Canal Zone, Panama to Col. Lawrence L. Skinner and Kathrine Ingram Skinner. He was raised at several military bases, and in his High School years he stayed with relatives in Columbus, Ohio. Jack attended The Ohio State University graduating in 1954. Jack served in the Army for the next two years.
After rejoining his parents in Ogden, Utah he began working for Commercial Security Bank. He met, and married Sue Dye. Jack began working for First Federal Savings and Loan in Salt Lake City, running the Colonial Insurance Agency. He remained in that position until his retirement in 1984.
Jack and Sue moved to St. George, Utah in their retirement. They found many friends in the area through Grace Episcopal Church and the Bloomington Country Club. Jack is survived by his children, Larry from Las Vegas, Nevada (Tonya), and Kathy Skinner of Portland, Oregon. Jack had two step-grandchildren Aiden and Tara Gonzales, of Salt Lake City.
A rose garden Memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church, 1072 East 900 South in Saint George, Utah on Wednesday August 18, 2021. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
