Gregory Howard passed away in his home, early Saturday morning on May 14, 2022 after a four year battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Lane and Mabelle Howard and brothers Ralph Lane Howard, Jr.; Larry Lynn Howard, and Dennis George Howard.

Gregory was born January 5th, 1941. He grew up on Jonestown Road and worked on the family farm. After high school, he went to work as a mechanic on tractors and other farm equipment. He became an exceptional machinist, welder and was a talented jack-of-all-trades. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was adored by his family.

In his youth, he was out with a friend and saw a beautiful young lady. He was instantly smitten and said, "that's the girl I'm going to marry." That young lady eventually became his wife, Linda Faye Williamson Howard.

Gregory loved music and taught himself to play guitar and eventually formed a band called the Westerneers with his dear friends Runt Hill, Franklin Howard, Jason Smith and brother Ralph Howard.

Gregory became interested in flying in 1984. After only 4 hours of training, he made his first solo flight. The instructor said that he took to it like a duck to water. He enjoyed flying for several decades and was a First Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol.

Gregory was a devoted member of Christian Chapel Church. He was a Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He took his duties very seriously and was dedicated to serving his Saviour.

Gregory was married for 59 1/2 years to Linda Faye. They have a daughter, Donna Howard Kennedy with husband Johnny Kennedy, and granddaughters Courtney and Cassidy Kennedy; son, Steve Howard with special friend Linda Houston Davis and granddaughters Rachel Grace and Allie Howard.

Visitation will be held 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Christian Chapel Church. A funeral service will begin at 3:00. Burial will follow the service at Parker Howard Cemetery.
