Mrs. Bernice "Prissy" Thompson Willis, 80, of Albany, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Monday morning, May 16, 2022.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 20, 2022, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Pelham with Rev. Jack Wells officiating. The family will visit with friends following the service.

Born June 27, 1941, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Trudie Wade Thompson. She worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for many years and later went to work for Brooks Furniture of Albany. Affectionately known as "Prissy," she loved the Lord dearly, was of the Pentecostal faith, and enjoyed Gospel music. Prissy was a prayer warrior to many and spent hours seeking the Lord on other's behalf. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ivey J. Willis Jr; son, Ivey J. Willis III; and her sister, Marilyn Lawson McClelland.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Jacinda Laing (Tim) of Albany, Leanne Hines (Dan) of PA, and Gayla Mathis (Chris) of Albany; 6 grandchildren, Ivy Laing, Hilary Hines (Eric), Jamie Laing, Christopher Mathis (Brittany), Harber Mathis, and Spencer Mathis; two great grandchildren, Shepherd and Billie; brother, Isaac Thompson and Beth of Dallas, TX; and a host of extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

Joseph W. Jones Funeral Home of Leesburg has been given the honor to serve the Willis family.
