Funeral services were held on April 9, 1984 for Mrs. Amy Dougherty at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wm. Gran officiating. Casket bearers were her grandchildren. Mrs. Dougherty age 89, died on April 6, 1984 at the Canby Community Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1895 at Larchwood, Iowa to Mr. and Mrs. Leon Webber. She grew up and taught school near Fairview, SD where she met and married Roy Doughtery June 10, 1914. They moved to a farm northwest of Gary where she taught rural school. Mr. Dougherty died in 1952. She lived and worked in Madison, Gary, Watertown, Brookings and Mitchell. She returned to Gary in 1975. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gary. She is survived by four children, Clinton of Filer, Idaho, Mrs. Maynard (Eleanor) Cochrane, Gary, Mrs. Richard (Myrna) McNiven of Palm Desert, California,; and Edwin of Blue Jay, California; one sister Mrs. Lula Andersen of Clear Lake, 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Ray.

Mrs. Amy Dougherty, age 89, passed away on Friday, April 6, 1984 at the Canby, MN hospital.

Mrs. Dougherty was born March 23, 1895 at Larchwood, Iowa, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Webber. She grew to womanhood and taught school near Fairview, SD where she met and married Roy Dougherty on June 10, 1914. They moved to a farm northwest of Gary, SD, where she also taught a rural school. Mr. Dougherty passed away in 1952. She worked as a housemother at a girl's dormitory at Dakota State College for two and one-half years and at the School for the Blind at Gary for four years. She was employed at the Jenkins Memorial Home in Watertown for eight years before moving to Brookings where she kept house and cared for Mrs. Ida Lynn for seven years. She lived in Mitchell for three years before returning to Gary in 1975. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Gary.

She is survived by four children, Clinton of Filer, Idaho, Mrs. Maynard (Eleanor) Cochrane of Gary, SD, Mrs. Richard (Myrna) McNiven of Palm Desert, CA, and Edwin of Blue Jay, CA; one sister, Mrs. Lulu Anderson of Clear Lake, SD, 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, four gg-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, Ray.

Funeral services were held Monday April 9, 1984 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Gary with the Rev. Wm. Gran officiating. Mrs. Robert Gage was the organist. Alan Cochrane sang the hymns "My Mother's Bible", "In the Garden" and "Fill My Cup Lord", accompanied by James Cochrane.

Casketbearers and honorary casketbearers were her grandchildren, Darell Dougherty, Gary Dougherty, Darlene Dougherty Randolph, Alan Cochrane, Lois Cochrane Corliss, James Cochrane, David Cochrane. Gene Cochrane, Wayne Kjenstad, Ronald Dougherty, Michael Dougherty, Patricia Dougherty Greenig, Timothy Dougherty and Ron Dougherty. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery at Gary.
