Brenda Joyce Boone Jones, 80, of Beech Grove, Indiana went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 13, 2022.
She was born in Dugger, Indiana November 20, 1941 the daughter of Charles F. Boone and Mary Ethel (Eaves) Boone. She was a graduate of Dugger Union High School Class of 1959, and Indiana State University with a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education. A member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and Beta Sigma Phi. Brenda's love for teaching began in the class room and continued for 28 years as an employee of the Division of Children Protective Services where she touched the lives of many children and families . She was a friend to all she met.
Survivors include two daughters, Lori Gambill (Cliff) of Merom, IN, Amy Masterson (Michael) of Maynardville, TN., five grandchildren; Renee Young (Mark), Mitchell Gambill, Audrey Hood (Nathaniel), Ross Gambill, and Neal Gambill, five great grandchildren; Ezra, Piper, Zoe, and John Haddon Young and several nieces and nephews. Brenda treasured her family most of all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also four brothers; Charles, Robert, James and Harold Boone and five sisters; Betty Skaggs, Mary Brenton, Joan Axe, Patricia Boone and Diana Cunningham.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger, IN with Pastor Bret Cox officiating. Burial in the Dugger Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until services Wednesday.
