Hollis Howard Kirkpatrick passed on April 30th. Born in Alabama on March 19, 1930, Hollis married Barbara Jean Richards, his hometown sweetheart, a union that would last sixty-three years. Hollis joined the Navy where he served for twenty-two years as a naval aviator. He and Barbara had a successful real estate company, later developing and building numerous properties in Virginia Beach. Hollis loved to tinker in his master workshop. His unending love of wildlife was highlighted by having the first emu farm in Tidewater.
Hollis was preceded in death by Barbara, son Kevin and grandson Kevin, Jr. Hollis had fourteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was truly a loving and kind man who will be missed by all.
Per his wishes, a private service was held at Colonial Grove Memorial Park.
