Betty Jean (Cox) Brown, 63, of Alice, Texas and formerly of Beeville, passed away peacefully at her home in Alice, Texas May 8, 2022.

Betty was born Oct. 25, 1958 in Beeville to Joyce Elaine (Natho) Cox and J.D. Cox. She attended A.C. Jones High School and on Feb. 1, 1980, she married Larry Thomas Brown in Beeville. She was a member of the Catholic faith and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing but her favorite times were spent with her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joyce and J.D. Cox; her husband, Larry Brown; and two brothers, Joe Cox and William Cox.

Survivors include her sister, Mary Ann Cox (Carlos Gutierrez) of Alice; an aunt, Bessie Cox of Beeville; nieces, Crystal (Wesley) Ballard of Hockley, Texas, Stephanie Cox (Oscar) Reyes and Sabrina Cox (Jonathan) Gatison; nephews, Kenneth Robinson, Morgan Robinson, Joe (Gloria) Cox, Jeffrey Cox and Jason Cox; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home with the funeral service at 10 o'clock. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
