A service will be Monday for Carol Rickman, 77, of Tracy, who died Sept. 2.
Born in French Camp, Miss Rickman graduated from Tracy High School in 1948 and from California State University, Chico, in 1952, with a teaching credential. She lived in Concord, where she taught as a reading specialist, and moved to Tracy after retirement in the 1990s.
Miss Rickman was an avid reader and enjoyed gatherings with family, traveling with friends and spending time with her cats.
She is survived by her brother, John C. Rickman, and his wife, Joan, of Tracy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Emma A. Wright; and her parents, John M. and Alta Rickman.
Mondays service will begin at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 330 Acacia St. Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., is handling arrangements. An online guestbook will be available at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
