Elsie was born to Wesley & Ruby (Wood) Isch on October 25, 1932. Elsie was born, raised and lived most of her life in and around Reydon (formerly Rankin), Oklahoma. She had two sisters, Opal (Rondal Evans), Luella (Jack Trammell), a brother Lester (Joan Truitt) and a 1/2 sister Buford (Charley Daugherty) all of whom have preceded her in death.

Elsie was 15 when she met and married Foster Leonard, Jr. ("Jr", "Bud", "Dad") and celebrated over 70 years together. They had 7 kids, Janice (Stan Jones), twins Carolyn (Andy Thompson) and Marilyn (Steve Hall), Gary (Julia Trujillio whom preceded her in death), Sherry (whom preceded her Mom in death) (Rudolph Guzman) , Steve (Rebecca Lippencott) and Ann (Kenneth Tidwell). All of her children were raised in and graduated from Reydon, which often meant four basketball games a week, in different directions for many years, but Mom & Dad never missed a one!!

In the early years of their lives, Elsie and Jr. raised broomcorn and cotton. Mom's favorite was the broomcorn, where we would share harvesting with our neighbors, which included Elsie preparing a noon meal often times for well over 20 people. As we got older and because Dad drove a grader, Mom took care of the day to day farm work. She would drive tractors, get one kid to a field needing worked or planted, get us "lined out" then head to another field doing the same thing. She did this all the while preparing 3 meals and taking care of her rambunctious kids. Elsie and Jr. worked on the farm they owned even after buying a home in Cheyenne, Oklahoma in 2006. Jr. continued to drive back and forth farming, feeding and checking the cows until he passed away, January 25, 2020.

Elsie loved her family, the kids, son and daughter in-laws, grandkids, great grandkids, great-great grandkids, nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts, Uncles. She leaves behind many family members, friends and neighbors who love and will miss her. Elsie and Jr. were big supporters of all the communities around them. They would attend fund raising events whether in Reydon, Cheyenne, Sweetwater or Durham. They loved going to the Casino in Hammon with Gary and Julia "for the food". Elsie's favorite pastime was to embroidery quilt blocks and tea towels, which she made sets for all the kids and grandkids. Her true enjoyment was cooking dinner for a big crowd (the bigger the better), she loved to read western romance novels, drink coffee with a sweet snack, be in a room filled with the WHOLE, loud family playing games and laughing. Many a time, she would have to "referee" our Pictionary games (because some would cheat)! We didn't have much, but what we had was special. Mom gave up her fight and went to meet Dad on May 14, 2022.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Lucy, Joy, Jesse, and Kendra for the exceptional care and all the many hours spent with Elsie during her final days.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 at 10:00 AM officiated by Chuck Milner. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
