Keith grew up on a family farm in northern Indiana where he won the honored title of 4H Tomato King, he was the Center on the Mount Summit HS Basketball Team, & he met the love of his life (Wanda Rigney). Keith was a loving and involved husband, father, & accomplished engineer who rose to the highest ranks of engineering & business management at Cummins Engine Company. Keith loved people and always had time to listen. His greatest honor was being chosen to lead a highly accomplished team in the development & introduction of the Cummins ISX engine which replaced the company's bread and butter product that was developed in the 1950's by Clessie Cummins - founder of Cummins Engine Co. Keith was present, engaged, and excelled at everything he tried. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Wanda Chambers of Fort Myers, FL; three children, Cheryl Chamber of Chehalis, WA, Karen Kohne of Charleston, SC and Mark Chambers (Kim) of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren, Allegra, Ian, Greg, Alexandra, Morgan, Kathryn, Stephanie and Jonathan; three great grandchildren, Hollen, Hudson and Leighton; as well as several extended family members and friends.
A visitation will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Springport, IN.
