James Edward Ashby, age 88, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at his residence. He was born on August 8, 1933 to the late Thomas Hudson Ashby and Lorene Sumners Ashby.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son: J.W. "Buddy" Ashby; sisters: Elizabeth McGee and Marie Hatchett; and brother: John Henry Ashby.
Mr. Ashby is survived by his wife: Wilma F. Ashby of Fayetteville, TN; daughter: Margaret Selby of Kelso, TN; son: David Ashby of Taft, TN; sisters: Jean (Steve) Henderson and Joyce Davis, both of Fayetteville, TN; brothers: Joe Thomas (Peggy) Ashby of Commerce, GA, Billy Ashby of Dacula, Ga, and Shelley (Donna) Ashby of Fayetteville, TN; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Blanche Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Friday, February 4, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
