William "Bill" Chapman, age 79, of Dalton passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021, at his residence.
He served in the Vietnam War and retired from The United States Air Force, and Coronet Industries after 39 years. Bill loved watching NASCAR and Southeastern Conference Football.
Preceded in death by his son, Ralph Chapman: parents, Arthur and Charlotte Bartenfeld Chapman: brother, Bobby Chapman: aunt, Virginia Bartenfeld: sister-in-law, Ilene Underwood.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Wendy Chapman of Dalton, sister-in-law, Jo Rayner of England: brother in law, Jim Parrish of England, nephew, Gary Chapman, of Spring City TN. niece, Krista (Chapman) and Patrick Nix of Phenix City, AL: great-nieces and nephews, Emma Grace Nix Davis, of Richmond KY, Haley Chapman, of Dalton, Bo Nix, Auburn AL, Caleb Nix, of Phenix City, AL, Canaan Chapman, of Dalton, Sara Ruth Nix of Phenix City, AL: aunts, Jeanette Morgan, Stella Langford, of Dalton: uncle, Walter " Junior" Chapman, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
A Memorial service to honor Mr. Chapman will be Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at 11 am in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Willis officiating.
