David D. Stuart, Sr died August 9, 2013.

He was born in Stanton, Tennessee on September 1, 1930 to the late Floyd and Alma Stuart.

He was a well known announcer for many years on radio station WKBL in Covington before he joined the Methodist ministry.

He served at multiple Methodist churches in west Tennessee for more than 20 years. After his retirement from the Methodist ministry, the Reverend Stuart served as pastor at the Presbyterian church in Ripley, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Monday in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Perkins officiating. Internment will follow at 5:00 PM at the Stanton Cemetery in Stanton, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 PM until service time at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, May Stuart of Memphis, Tennessee; a daughter Laura Slone of Tampa, Florida; a son Dixon Stuart of Germantown, Tennessee; step-daughter Ami Wittber of Memphis, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Casey, Rachel, Matt, Virginia "Vi", Joshua and Glynn Rachel and three great-grandchildren, Tripp, Cate and John.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patsy Simmons Stuart, a sister, Virginia Osborne and his brother, Ronald Stuart.

Pallbearers will be Matt Stuart, Jerry Faulkner, Tim Faulkner, Danny Faulkner, Phillip Flowers, Gerald Woods, Ronald Woods and Roy Wrather.

The family ask that memorials be directed to St. Jude, P.O. Box # 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38148-0142 or the Alzheimer Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, 17the Floor, Chicago, Illinois 60601-7633.
