Former Teton Board of Realtors Director Carla Jane Frederick Stone died Nov. 14 in Jackson. Her family provided the following.

Carla was born Dec. 26, 1950, in Burbank, California, to Charles A. Frederick and Byrna M. Frederick. Carla spent her early years in Coral Gables, Florida, attended middle school in Rolling Hills, California, then moved with her parents to Weisbaden, Germany, where she finished high school.

Back in California, she attended the College of Marin. She then followed her passion for music to Los Angeles, where she became a recording engineer, assisting on albums by Fleetwood Mac, Eddie Rabbit, John Stewart and more. She went on to work as a recording and sound effects engineer for television series produced for Walt Disney Studios and the Disney Channel.

Carla married Michael J. Stone on May 2, 1992, and relocated to Alpine. She became a real estate agent in the Alpine and Star Valley areas, eventually owning her own company, Real Estate of Star Valley. She served as director of the Teton Board of Realtors for several years. She also co-chaired the Teton Board of Realtors Scholarship Committee.

Carla was an enthusiastic supporter of the community, taking part in many activities and festivals. She devoted much of her time and talents to Alpine activities such as the annual Easter egg hunt and the Alpine Winter Jubilee. She coordinated the Chili Cook Off at Alpine Mountain Days and the Halloween Pumpkin Patch. You could always find her at charity events with her beautiful smile and willingness to help.

Christmas was one of her favorite times of the year, and she loved serving hot chocolate for Santa's visit to Alpine. She worked for and encouraged others to build a future in the area. Her enthusiasm for life and welcome smile for all those she met will be remembered by the many friends she leaves behind.

Carla loved Wyoming and will be buried at Aspen Hill Cemetery in Jackson.

Carla is survived by her husband, Michael Stone, and her sisters Marcia Frederick and Robin Frederick. A celebration of her life is being arranged.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Alpine Mountain Days Committee at the Town of Alpine Office.
