William was affectionately called just Duke by many. He was known for his love of cooking and grilling. He was referred to as a "Master of the Grill" by his children.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Curtis Duke Jr., and sisters Fay Duke and Janice Williams.
He is survived by his current wife, Robin (nee Byrd) Duke, former wife, Felicia (nee Myers) Duke, daughters; Taschiana Newman, Tanjaniacka (Kyle) Reed, Treana (Matthew) Duke-Neely, Thalia Duke, Tyana (Jacolb) Ammons, Tywana Pinnick and sons; William Duke and Xzanyiel Abbott. Stepchildren: Taja Badmon, Lorin Stamps and Charmaine Boyd. Brother; Curtis Duke III, Sisters; Fannie King, JoAnn Henderson, Rosalyn (Roy) Reese, Annette Duke-Williams, and Kelly Curry Smith. Uncle-Nick Carson and Aunt-Esterr Boykin, 26 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. A special thanks to his oldest daughter Taschiana for being his caregiver during his battle with Pancreatic cancer. As well as a special thanks to the staff at Lightways Hospice of Joliet for welcoming his large family with such open arms and respect.
