Tony Lee Phillips, 61, of Browns Ridge, Lerona, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at his home with his family by his side. Born, September 29, 1960, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Benny E. Phillips and Beulah Ann Anderson Phillips. Tony was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He recently came to know the Lord on August 27, 2021. For the last three years, Tony fought a courageous battle with two types of cancer. He was a very private, hardworking man taking care of his family who he loved with all his heart. Tony worked for Industrial Plating and Machine (I.P.M.) for 38 years. He also, delivered newspapers for three years for the Bluefield Daily Telegraph. Many have said, they loved their paperman who was always on time. Tony loved deer hunting, sports especially the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds, win or lose. Also, he loved gardening, especially raising watermelons and giving them to his family, neighbors and to friends of the family. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 31 years and who had been together for 36 years, Darlene Mann Phillips; Loving son, Logan Tyler Phillips; Loving sisters, Teresa Keaton and husband Eddie, Brenda Larue and husband Jerry, Linda Nelson and husband Michael and Rhonda Young and companion, Bill; Several loving nieces, nephews cousins and friends also survive. The family has honored Tony's request that he be cremated. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Keaton Cemetery, Indian Ridge Road, Pipestem with Pastor Dallas Peyton, Jr., officiating. Those attending the services are requested to meet at the cemetery by service hour. Face masks are optional and social distancing be observed. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be sent in Tony's memory to, Pipestem Christian Academy, P.O. Box 49, Pipestem, WV 25979.
