James Richard "Rick" Sanders, 63, passed away May 9, 2022.
A native of Marion, Illinois, son of Dixie Lee Miller Sanders and the late James Loren Sanders, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of 11 years having served in Desert Storm, a retired employee of General Electric after 25 years of service, and a member of Woodside Baptist Church.
Also surviving are his wife, Tina Baxley Sanders; two sons, James Christopher Sanders (Dawn) and Richard Matthew Sanders (Trish); a sister, Debbie Roberts (Mark); a granddaughter, Harper; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vernon and Ernie Baxley; brother-in-law, Andy Baxley (Leslie); nephews, Josh Roberts (Emily) and Andrew Baxley; and nieces, Rachel Turner (Michael), Jessica Stigall (Adam), and Emily Baxley.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Ronnie Williams.
Visitation will be held 1:00-2:15 p.m. Thursday at The Wood Mortuary.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Edwards, Robert Gross, Clay Schile, Burt Heuse, Steve Rose, Jesse Moss, Joe Jordan, Jim Warren, Roger Workman and Chris Dombrowski.
