He attended Hillsboro High School. After high school, Mitchell started learning many trade professions; Carpet Installer, Roofer, and Construction Worker.
He was left-handed and had elegant cursive handwriting. He was always smiling, happy going and never met a stranger. Mitchell was loyal and very generous to his friends rather it be monetarily or gift-giving. He loved to spend his free time fishing.
Mitchell was survived by his siblings, Tina Pate (Ron) King, of Raleigh NC, Edward Gene Pate, Mattie Elizabeth Pate, Richard Alton Pate Jr. Deanna Pate Roberson; five nephews and eight nieces.
He was preceded in death by father, Richard Alton Pate Sr., aunt, Mattie Belle Paige and sister, Rita Darlene Edwards.
