He was the son of the late Harold Clifford and Ester Fugate Shears. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a retired self-employed painter, and a member of the Good Guys Club of Kentucky. On December 1, 1972 he was united in marriage to his wife, Betty Lou Anderson Moore. In addition to his parents, He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert Moore and Raymond "Squirrel" Shears.
Steve loved his family and friends; the outdoors, trips to the beach and Pigeon Forge, TN; and visiting his niece Kim Hillenbrand Rampel in Parkersburg WV.
Steve is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Anderson Moore of Crittenden; 3 amazing sons, Shane Stephen (Missy) Moore of Jonesville, Scott Lee (Shelly) Moore of Dry Ridge, and Shawn Victor (Ashli) Moore of Dry Ridge; 5 grandchildren he loved to spoil, Ashton Shane Moore, Aubrey Rose Moore, Averitt Scott Moore, Emma Elyse Moore, and Owen Chase Moore; 1 brother, Chester Shears; and 3 sisters, Mary (David) Tucker, Bonnie (Lee) Flowers, and Marie (Troy) Steten.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden followed by burial in the Hill Crest Cemetery Dry Ridge.
