Mrs. Lois Ann (Reisig) Wilson passed away peacefully on November 12, 2021 at the age of 93. The daughter of Ernest Reisig and Hilda (Amacher) Reisig, she was born and raised in Niagara Falls NY and was a proud graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She leaves her loving husband of 71 years, William Wilson. Their married life was shared in Philadelphia PA, Beaver Falls NY, Croghan NY, Clinton NY, Utica NY, Schenectady NY and Worcester MA. She cherished her role as wife, mother and grandmother. More than anything, Lois loved being in the midst of her family, who enjoyed countless holidays together around her dining table and yearly summer gatherings in Schroon Lake NY. After raising her family, Lois began a career at the Schenectady Public Library, which happily furthered her life-long passion for reading. An animal lover, Lois was responsible for the health and happiness of generations of stray cats. She was an accomplished knitter and created many treasured family heirlooms. Her interest in Queen Victoria led to extensive research about the British royal family and to the creation of a large collection of Victoriana. In prior years, she was an active congregant at the Eastern Parkway United Methodist Church. Lois also served for several years as an officer of the Hudson Mohawk Swiss Society. She provided constant love and support to her children and their spouses: Peter and Cindy (Bleier) Wilson of Worcester MA, Jane (Wilson) and Joseph Hendrick of Schenectady, NY, and Susan (Wilson) and Christopher Guba of Ballston Lake, NY. She will be greatly missed by her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Lois also leaves her sister-in-law Ellen Wilson of Niagara Falls NY. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law John Wilson of Cincinnati. She leaves her sister-in-law Linda (Moeller) Wilson and her nephew Benjamin Wilson (Elizabeth) and their two sons. A celebration of Lois's life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that gifts in her memory may be made to Animal Protective Foundation, Schenectady NY. www.animalprotective.org.
