He worked many years as a custodian at the Dumas Public School District and for Bob's Exxon. He fellowshipped with the Bailey Chapel United Methodist Church in Gould, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by (2) sons; Anthony Hawkins and Fredrick Hawkins.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Elizabeth Williams Hawkins of Gould, Arkansas, (2) sons; Amos Hawkins, Jr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and David Hawkins of Gould, Arkansas and a grandchild that he reared David Hawkins of Gould, Arkansas, (2) daughters; Altha Hawkins Williams of Borger, Texas and Stella Williams of Gould, Arkansas, (12) grandchildren and (9) great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
