James Francis Walsh, age 85, lived a full and happy life until May 9, 2022. A resident of Frankfort, IL and a former longtime resident of Flossmoor, IL, Jim is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Marla Walsh neé Olson their four children, Peggy Dull, Cathy (Todd) Scheffers, James, Jr. (Mary), and Patrick (Elona); and nine grandchildren: Kyle Scheffers, Colette Scheffers, Mary Catherine Dull, Christina Dull, James F. Walsh III, Claire Walsh, Owen Walsh, Maddie Walsh, and Nora Walsh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Valerie Walsh, and brother, Stephen, and is survived by his brother, Bill (late Diane) Walsh.

Jim attended St. Laurence Catholic Grade School, South Shore High School, and Northern Illinois University. His successful career began with Thrall Car Manufacturing (Chicago Heights, IL), where he served as a purchasing agent and Vice President of Sales and met many longtime friends. He went on to serve as President of Talbert Manufacturing, Inc. (Rensselaer, IN), and completed his rewarding career at Nazdar Ink Technologies (Chicago, IL) where he was instrumental in expanding their international business, traveling to Europe, Asia, and South America. Jim was so respected and admired for his incredible work ethic, smart business decisions, and his innate ability to build strong relationships with his colleagues and customers.

Jim was proud to serve as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps.

Jim was a member of Olympia Fields Country Club for many years, where he loved to host dinners and play golf with family and friends. He was the proud recipient of a hole-in-one on #13 North.

Jim enjoyed a fulfilling retirement for 20 years, and finally had time to enjoy his favorite hobbies: spending quality time with his family, attending so many of his grandchildren's sporting events, taking impeccable care of his yard and garden, golfing, grilling, reading, and kicking back in his favorite chair. He spent the last 13 winter seasons in Siesta Key, FL, where he developed many amazing new friendships, swam his laps in the pool, earned another hole-in-one, and enjoyed so many wonderful visits with his family.

Jim was a faithful Catholic, with so many wonderful memories at Infant Jesus of Prague Church in Flossmoor. He and Marla were married at IJP on May 26, 1962 by Father William O'Mara; he served as a lector at 7:00 a.m. mass for many years. He instilled his strong Catholic faith in his children and saw many children and grandchildren attend IJP school and get married at IJP church.
