Lou Ann Radford Eastep, 66, passed away Saturday, June 03, 2006 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville Tx. Lou Ann was born Sept 9, 1939 at Martin Tennessee to Virgil Alvin and Selva "Peg" Lamb Radford.
Lou Ann graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelors degree in Education, teaching in Paris and Puryear Tn, Brownsville, Los Fresnos, San Benito, and Harlingen Tx.
She received her Masters degree in Education from Texas A & I University. She was the first Gifted and Talented program administrator for the Harlingen School District. She developed their program and was advisor for other school systems in the area in setting up their programs.
Her passion was teaching. She especially loved reading to and teaching her grandchildren. Although she became disabled and had to retire from teaching, she continued to teach at home, home schooling her grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at First Baptist Church in Harlingen, where she was a member. Funeral services were later held at Thompson Creek Baptist Church in Como Tn where she became a christian and later was married. She was buried at Olive Branch Cemetery, nearby.
Lou Ann is survived by her loving husband, Buford Eastep of Harlingen; her son, William Virgil (Gloria) Eastep; her daughter, Sabrina Selva (Davy) Chick; her five grandchildren, Ricardo Lopez, Samantha and Nico Laiuppa, Jordan and Harrison Eastep.
