A wake for Walter Roe Hamilton Jr. was held Tuesday evening at the Concho Emergency Response Center.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, also at the Emergency Response Center with Rev. Waylan Upchego officiating. Burial will be in the Concho Cemetery under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.
Walter died May 6, 2022, at St. Anthony Healthplex in El Reno. He was born Dec. 2, 1946, in Concho. He worked in economic development for Oklahoma City. After his retirement he was employed by the Gaming Commission for the Lucky Star Casino. He lived most of his life in El Reno and was a member of the Methodist church and the Oklahoma Indian Nation Gourd Clan.
Walter is survived by his wife of 44 years, Doris Yellow Eyes Hamilton of the home; sons, Walter R. Hamilton III of Yukon and Eddie Hamilton of El Reno; sister, Margaret Anquoe of El Reno; and six grandchildren.
