Preston Edwin Phillips, 89, of Panama City, FL passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. He was born on April 26, 1931 in Mayo, FL to John and Claire Phillips. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Business Administration, Preston served in the United States Air Force for twenty-two years, was stationed in Germany, Florida, Montana, North Dakota, and then Alaska where he retired as a Major. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for more than thirty years as a real estate agent in Anchorage and was co-owner of Totem Reality. In 2006 he retired once more, this time to Panama City Beach where he and his late wife, Dorothy Jane Phillips, enjoyed playing golf, eating oysters, and tending to their lemon trees. He was active in his church at Woodlawn Methodist and enjoyed serving his community through Meals on Wheels and the soup kitchen. He will be most remembered for his generous spirit and brought everyone joy with his big smile. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jane Phillips, beloved older brothers, Donald Phillips and John Phillips. He is survived by, brother Simmie Phillips (JoAn), two children, Paige Johnson (Michael) and Doug Phillips (Amy Muse), as well as three grandchildren, Max Phillips (Hailey), Chris Johnson (Torie), James Johnson (Madison), and one great grandson, Ryder Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
