Marion is the youngest of eight children born to Arthur Marion Bush and Rebecca Jane Davis. At age 21 he registered for the World War II draft. He was living in McGill, Nevada where he worked for the Nevada Con Copper Corp as a Jr Test Engineer. During the war he worked as an aviation chief machinist's mate.
Marion married Lillian Bernice Krebs on October 11, 1947 in San Francisco, California.
