New Hamburg suffered the lose of one of its life-time residents early Friday evening in the sudden death of Marguerite Heimbecker, wife of Conrad Lips. Apparently in the best of health, Mrs. Lips suffered a stroke about six o'clock and died about half an hour later.
Deceased was born in New Hamburg on December 20, 1862, the daughter of Mr. and Mr. Peter Helmbecker. She was in her 70th year. Mrs. Lips who attended the Trinity Lutheran church, was married at New Hamburg in 1883. Her husband, together with four children. Ella, Mrs. E. Loth, Kitchener; Lily, Mrs. P. Binkle of New Hamburg and Otto and Russel at home, together with six grandchildren and one brother, John Helmbaecker of Clifford, survive. Following private services at the home on Monday afternoon at two o'clock the funeral was held to the Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by interment in the Riverside cemetery. Rev. H. R. Mosig officiated.

Margaret was a daughter of Peter Heinbecher (1835-1923) and Margaret Rau (1846-1900). She married Conrad Lips on January 9, 1883, in New Hamburg, Ontario.
Conrad and Margaret had five known children:
- Ella (1883-1941)
- Otto Henry (b. 1 May 1886)
- Amelia Anna Barbara "Millie" (1893-1895)
- Russel (b. 15 Nov 1896)
- Lillian (1900-1969)
