My grandmother, my namesake, who I truly thought would never be gone.

She was a sweet, hard-working lady, doing janitorial duties for much of her life. She always had a story to tell, be it real-life or a ghost story. Once, when the power went out on a stormy night at her already creepy old house, she decided to tell me about all the ghosts that were there with us. I slept with a lantern on that night.

She liked White Castle, Wendy's and Taco Bell, and frequently made hot dogs in her microwave. She was a cat lady, and many, many cats have come through the world that had lives that were enriched by Grandma. She had treats and a pat for every one, all the time.

Pat was kind, she was beautiful, and she had so much life to her. You wouldn't be able to tell all the stories she had in her, looking at her as a little old lady. She was so full of life and it's a complete mindbender to know that she is not here anymore. I still feel her with us, because she's still here and always will be.

Sleep easy Grandma Pat -- we miss you and always will.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth,
As it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power, and the glory,
For ever and ever.
Amen.
