BUTNER: Bobbie Dixon, 89, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Hock Family Pavilion. She was born in Durham, the daughter of the late James D. Britt and Mary Phillips Nowell. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon is also predeceased by her husband, Patrick W. Dixon; daughter, Sharyn Lynn Duke; grandson, George Wade Jr; sister, Hilda Pully; and brothers, Haywood Honeycutt, Belvin Walter, Johnny Britt, JD Britt, Dewey Britt.
Mrs. Dixon was a retired Child Nutritionist with Durham Public Schools and also was formerly employed with Chick-fil-a. She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by her son, Patrick W. Dixon Jr. (Sandra); daughter, Carolyn Dixon; sister, Pauline Bullock; grandchildren, Catherine Kendrick, Randall Dixon, Anna Watkins, Shannon DeVincent; great-grandchildren, Aaron Watkins, Katelyn Watkins, Madison Watkins, Cameron Kendrick, Sienna DeVincent, Rebecca Dixon; and great-great grandson, Brian Turner.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10th at Riverside Baptist Church with Pastor Chase Greene and Pastor Jimmy Jones officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the services in Riverview United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bahama.
