Richard Ernest Rose, 86, of Narragansett, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 at
home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Woonsocket to the late John S. and Emma (Welk) Rose where he
lived until moving to Peace Dale when he was six.

He remained in South Kingstown, met Susan Butson, his wife of 63 years and served in the Air Force. He eventually made his home in Narragansett where he resided for the past 53 years. He worked as a metrology technician at Eletric Boat in Groton until he retired in 1996.

Richard spent his free time baking goodies which he enjoyed sharing with family,
friends and neighbors. His most requested specialties were hermits, cappuccino
brownies and pretzels. His quest for creating the ultimate clamcake will be
remember fondly by family and friends. Richard also spent time re-engineering
simple home projects into elaborate creations. From automated water systems
for his flower boxes and bird baths to the planting and removal of the 'lollipop'
snowplow lawn markers, family and neighbors were amazed and entertained.
Richard was a good friend to all. In his later years he became the unofficial
caretaker of his neighbors houses while they resided elsewhere during the winter
months. His neighbors will miss his ideas, helpfulness, smiles and goodies.

Besides his wife Susan, he leaves his daughters, Tammy Foster and her husband
Bill, Wendy Kasichke and her husband Jim and three grandsons, Benjamin and
Zachary Foster and Eric Kasichke. He also leaves behind a sister, Alice Ann Beckett
of Michigan and multiple nephews, nieces and their children.

At his request services were private.
