Michele Welch, 79, East Moline, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Michele was born on March 12, 1943 in Centerville, IA, the daughter of John and Alice Todavich. She was married right out of high school to James Welch in Unionville, MO. They together have four children. She worked at the McClellon Dime Store in Centerville, and then became a housewife.

She enjoyed being a room mother for her children's classes, helping at school functions, her soap operas, westerns, playing cards, a cup of hot tea, quilting, crocheting, puzzle books and was a great cook.

Michele was an avid Cubs, Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Hawkeyes and Notre Dame Sports Fan.

She is survived by her loving husband, James, three daughters; Dianna (Jeff) Wara, Washington, IL, Alice (George) Harl, Rock Island, and Shannon (Chad) Potter, East Moline, son; James Welch Jr., Newton, IA, brother; John Charles Todavich, Pensacola, FL, grandkids; Melissa Wara, Milwaukee, WI, Corey Wara, Peoria, IL, Evan Potter and Abby Potter, both of East Moline, Michaela Welch, Plano, IA, Mason Harl, Rock Island, Michael Harl, Parkview, IA and Josef Harl, Colorado Springs, CO and 3 great grandchildren.

Visitation is 5-7 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Graveside services will be 1PM Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Oakland Cemetery, Centerville, IA.

Memorials may be made to Hope Lodge, Iowa City, IA.
