John F. O'Brien III, age 78, husband of Mary Ann (Darnell) O'Brien, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 in Woodbridge Place, Phoenixville, PA. Born on March 31, 1944 in Springfield, MA, he was a son of the late John and Phyllis (Cronin) O'Brien.
Prior to receiving his Juris Doctorate degree from Widener Law School, Mr. O'Brien worked as a Federal Agent for the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, now known as the DEA, for many years. Once equipped with his law degree, he went to work for a large law firm in Philadelphia, before branching out on his own and forming O'Brien and Ryan in Plymouth Meeting, PA.
A devoted and loving husband to the love of his life, Mary Ann, he was the patriarch of the family who cherished spending all of his down time with his family. He enjoyed boating and playing the piano for his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. O'Brien is survived by three sons, Michael J. O'Brien of West Chester, PA, Matthew J., husband of Meghan O'Brien of Cary, NC, and David J., husband of Linda O'Brien of Nyack, NY; four grandchildren, Catherine, Tierney, John "Jack", and Kalispell; and one sister, Maureen (O'Brien) Hansen, wife of Paul Hansen of Falmouth, MA.
