KNOX - Mrs. Jennie Gladys Hartzell, 82, of Knox RD 2 died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the
Oil City Hospital following a short illness.

She was born on September 22, 1887 in Porter Township, Clarion County, a daughter of the late John C. and Martha Evans Myers. She was married to Jacob Hartzell on August 5, 1908. He preceded her in death in 1968.

Mrs. Hartzell lived in the Knox area her entire married life. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Shippenville. She was active in Sunday School work.

She is survived by five sons, Merle, Wilfred, both of Knox RD 2, Ross, George, both of Knox RD 1 and Ivan Hartzell of Derby, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Twila) Bell of Shippenville RD 1; Mrs. Wilbur (Eva) Shaffer of Milheim and Mrs. Kathleen Fox of Venus; 39 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Bernice, and four grandchildren.

Friends are being received at the Roy P. Stuart Funeral Home in Knox. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Rev. Joseph Winkler of the Free Methodist Church of Shippenville officiating. Interment will be in St. Marks Cemetery in Kossuth.
