Shirley Ann Chavera, 63, of Morgantown, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 20, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois; a daughter of the late Kenneth R. and Shirley M. (Phillips) Shorter.
Shirley was a wonderful mother and grandmother; her family was her life.
Shirley is survived by her life partner of 43 years, Charles Shorter; her son, Charles Shorter, Jr.; her daughters, Peggy Forristall and her husband, Bill, Christina Chavera-Sisler and her husband, Bill, and Michelle Felton and her husband, Tim; her grandchildren, Christa, Sara, Alex, Austin, Cedric, Julian, Alexis, Abby, Danielle, Mia, Addison, Mason, Toby, and Carter; her great grandchildren, Liam, Brayden, Aubrey, and Bailey; her brothers, Edward Shorter, and William "Phillip" Shorter; her sisters, Danette Hell, Donna Spenader, Lisa Shorter, Tammy Womack, Helen Moore, and Tracy Ferrara; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Rodney "Buddy" Chavera; and her brother, Richard Shorter.
There are no visitation or services. Shirley's wishes were to be cremated.
