Betty Jean Kreimeyer was born on December 23, 1945, the daughter of Otto and Grace (Huisenga) Kreimeyer in Ackley, Iowa. She attended school in the Ackley/Geneva area and graduated in the Class of 1963.
On June 6, 1964, Betty married Lynn Meyer. They raised three children, Lisa, Shelley, and Kristin. Betty loved taking care of children and ran an in-home daycare center for 38 years. Crafting was also a major joy for Betty. She loved to sew, paint, and finish wood craft projects. Crafting turned into a family activity with family members making various woodworking projects together and then traveling to craft shows to sell their work. When she wasn't in the craft room, Betty loved summer trips north to their lake home in Lake City, Minnesota, where they traveled for 35 years.
Betty loved camping, boating, fishing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Additionally, Betty enjoyed playing games on her computer and tablet, cooking, baking, making candy, and going for walks and bike rides.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years Lynn Meyer; their children, Lisa (Don) Rowley, Shelley (Ken) Gratopp, and Kristin Johnson; grandchildren, Kellianne (JJ) Torres, Joshua (Heather) Weuve, Addie (Brock) Pieters, Baylee (Colby) Bierman, and Chase (Sydney Schmidt) Gratopp; seven great-grandchildren; her beloved pets, Buddy and Lacey; and extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Grace Kreimeyer, and her siblings, Marlys Kuehne and Lester Kreimeyer.
