daughter of Abia Taylor Lightner Jr. and Tena Morrell of Ukaia. In 1913 marguerite went into her father's office to learn his business and help him as an Insurance Agent, Land Office Attorney and Inheritance Tax Appraiser. She was secretary for the Kern County cattleman Association from 1930-1947. In 1916 she married William G. Follansbee and lived on St. Lawrence Oil Lease near Fellows.
In 1924 Mr. Follansbee died. Marguerite returned to business with her father. She took an active part in organizing the Soroptimist Club of bakersfield and was the second President and Charter Member. She was appointed a State Appraiser. She had a genuine love for the people in the Kern County cattle Industry and enjoyed assisting many of them with tax problems, insurance, estate works, and land transactions. Marg was highly respected and loved in return. In 1950 whe married Dick Ashe. They njoyed living on some acreage on Brundage Lane. marg played a large part in the business and political life of the County. Marguerite is buried at the foot of her grandfather's grave in Keyesville.
