Has peacefully joined our Lord on Tuesday, January 1, 2008, due to complications of MS, at the age of 49.
Karen resided at Arbors of New Castle for 3 years. She was born in Salem, NJ on August 8, 1958. She attended Pennsgrove High School and then attended Salem Community College for 3 years. Later on Karen worked as a public defender secretary for the State of Delaware for 11 years. She enjoyed music, dancing and partying with friends and family.
She is survived by her mother, Janet Myers of Woodstown, NJ; 1 daughter, Amanda Maples of New Castle, DE and a cousin who was like her sister, Janet Hughart of New Castle, DE. She is also survived by several cousins, aunts and uncles as well as 2 beloved Godchildren, Jason Hughart of New Castle, DE and Janet Aylward of Dover, DE.
The family gives thanks to to Arbors of New Castle and Compassionate Care Hospice for all their support.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 5, at 10:30 am, at the Gebhart Funeral Home, 531 Delaware ST., New Castle, DE. Visitation will be on Friday evening, January 4, from 6-8 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawnside Cemetery, Woodstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to go to Compassionate Care Hospice, 5610 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19808.
