Patricia Ann Allen 78, of Spring Hill, formerly of Inverness, passed away May 4, 2022 at the Sturgill Hospice House in Brooksville, FL.
Pat was born on November 11, 1943, in Astoria, NY, to the late Charles Stone and Mary Ann (Brenner) Stone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles, and her loving husband of 44 years, Wendell.
Pat grew up in Franklin Square on Long Island and graduated from Valley Stream North High School. She obtained her B.S. in Elementary Education from State University of New York College at Oswego. She taught in Syracuse, NY; Berkley, CA, Pacifica, CA, and Citrus County, FL.
Pat obtained her certification in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) from Florida State University. During her 40 year teaching career she taught kindergarten through 8th grade at various times. She retired from Citrus Springs Elementary School after teaching first grade there for 20 years. Pat was also active as a union president in California and was negations spokesperson in Florida. Since retiring she was Secretary for the Citrus Eagles Auxiliary for 7 years. She also loved to read and travel.
Left to mourn her are her sons: Charles and his wife Karen and Robert; and her granddaughter Karlie Karish and her husband Barrett; her 2 great grandsons: Luke and Jude; as well as her many Eagle, Elks and teaching friends.
