Ima Jean (Meeker) Fox was born June 17, 1919, in Crospey, Illinois, to the late
Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Elsie Meeker. She departed this life on November 21,
2014, at Elk View General Hospital, in Hobart, Oklahoma, after a long illness.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Meeker of Crospey, Illinois,
Ursal Meeker, of Naples, Florida, Maurine (Meeker) Haines, of Saybrook,
Illinois, and Roberta (Meeker) Helm, of Clinton, Illinois. She attended Potosi
Grade School and later went on to graduate from Crospey Community High School.
From there, she earned her R.N. Diploma in Nursing in the state of Illinois. She
was later married to the late Sargeant Harold E. Fox, while he was serving in
the United States Air Force, stationed in Dothan, Alabama. To this union, 4
children were born within a 6 year period. She leaves to cherish her sweet
memories 3 daughters and 1 son; Dianne Fox of Hobart, Oklahoma, Patricia (Fox)
Madden of Altus, Oklahoma, Elaine (Fox) Lamb (married to Joe Ben Lamb), of
Yukon, Oklahoma, and Jim Fox (married Dianna Futrell Fox) of Canyon Lake, Texas.

Ms. Fox was very active in her community. She participated in the local Lutheran
church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school and adult bible
study, was an avid OSU extension member, and campaign manager for Victor
Wickersham.

Her early work history included head scrub nurse at Clinton Hospital and
industrial R.N. for a missile site in the Lugert area. Later, she went on to be
administrator of The Good Samaritan Home on Lowe Street, and nursing consultant
at Hobart Living Center. From this career path, she retired in 1979, where she
remained in the home with her loving, farmer husband. They became snow birds in
the late 1970's, where they spent annual winters for many years, enjoying a
multitude of friendships with fellow Winter Texans from all over the country.

She leaves behind her children, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. The
grandchildren are Elesha Madden of Altus, Oklahoma, Jake Fox of Tulsa, Oklahoma,
John Madden of Hobart, Oklahoma, Jason Fox, of Canyon Lake, Texas, Jennifer
Heckman, of Austin, Texas, Samantha Lamb, of Norman, Oklahoma, and Benjamin
Lamb, of Yukon, Oklahoma.

Her hobbies included participation in a local bowling league, Shortgrass
Playhouse, sewing, needle point, oil painting, beading, growing roses in her
flower garden, and canning fruits and vegetables.

She was loved and cared for by many in Hobart and the surrounding communities.
She had a very long, fruitful life, and will be celebrated and cherished by all
who loved her.
