Mrs. J.W. (Ada) Murfin, 79, native eastern Adair County woman, died at the family home here yesterday afternon at 2:30. She had been ill the past four weeks.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternon at 2 o'clock at the Sabbath Home Church, of which she was a member since young womanhood. Rev. G.D. Hammontree will conduct the rites. Interment will be in the Sabbath Home Cemetery.
She was the daughter of Horace and Sarah (Cornell) Paul and was born July 23, 1867 near Brashear. She was married to J.W. Murfin on February 13, 1889 and to this marriage four children were born, three of whom died in infancy.
Survivors are her husband; one son, Russell W. Murfin; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Moore of Brashear; two brothers, C.H. Paul of Kirksville and William H. Paul of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mr. and Mrs. Murfin, retiring from their farm in the Sabbath Home vicinity, moved to Brashear four years ago. She has lived her entire life near and in Brashear.
The body will lie in state at the Easley Funeral Home until time to depart for the funeral services.
The pallbearers will be Teddy Rowe, George Gardner, Sidney Rowe, Hurley Traylor, Charles Buhl and Jack Keller.
