William G. Moyers ("Bill") entered eternal rest May 2, 2022, at the age of 79. Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Anne; his children, Glen (Julie) Moyers and Carol Morgan; six grandchildren, Greg, Emily, William, and Sara Moyers, Corinne and Grant Morgan; brother, Ben (Delma) Moyers; and sister, Judy Lash.

Born in Hannibal, Missouri, on June 3, 1942, to Lois and George ("Smokey") Moyers, Bill was the oldest of five children. He grew up Richland, Washington.

Bill was an exceptional student in Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington. He launched his career on the Lunar Orbiter Program, devising methods for photographing and mapping the moon and earth from space. Following the conclusion of the Lunar Orbiter Program, Bill applied his engineering expertise to emerging technologies in process manufacturing. The majority of Bill's career consisted of designing and implementing complex process control systems for pulp, paper, and engineered wood products manufacturing.

Bill and Anne became sweethearts while in high school, later marrying in July of 1963. They started their family the next year while living in Auburn, Washington. Following a few years in Columbus, Ohio, they found their family's home in Vancouver, Washington, in 1973.

Bill was blessed with many friends in the Vancouver, Washington community, particularly through his involvement with the Vancouver Gyro Club and the Vancouver Bicycle Club. He was a lifelong aviation enthusiast, flying model planes as a teen, aerobatic planes as a young adult, and ultimately his private plane for commuting and family outings for many years.

Bill also enjoyed active outdoor adventures, such as biking, hiking, snow skiing, and scuba diving.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and George (Smokey) Moyers; and by his sisters, Glenda Moyers and Louise Moyers.

Visitation took place on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 17010 NE 9th St., Vancouver, WA 98684. The funeral Mass was celebrated following visitation on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Interment occured following the funeral Mass at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 101 NE 112th Ave, Vancouver, Washington 98684
